FiberTite was first installed on rooftops in 1979. For the first 10 years of the product's life, Seaman Corporation offered only a 10-year warranty on the FiberTite product. Thirty years later, we are finding that our earliest roofs are still performing.
Seaman Corporation uses the same core formula today to manufacture the FiberTite membrane as we did back in 1979. With a track record of proven long-life after exposure to the harshest rooftop environments, including blistering UV rays, extreme hot and cold temperatures, oils, greases, and caustic chemicals, we never found a reason to change it.
The FiberTite formula relies on DuPont Elvaloy KEE technology for superior performance attributes and for long-term flexibility. Because the FiberTite membrane remains flexible over time, future rooftop modifications can be made with ease.
Rooftop gardens originated in Europe centuries ago, and while Architect Frank Lloyd Wright experimented with them in the early 1900s, it wasn’t until the 1980s that rooftop gardens became a cost-effective roofing option. Also known as green roofs, these sustainable roof installations have grown to be a popular choice among environmentally conscious roofing specifiers, enriching the visual landscape and providing tremendous benefits to the environment.
